Nicola Bier studied German, French, European and International Law in Munich (Germany), Paris (France) and Turin (Italy). During her post graduate judicial training in Germany she worked inter alia in criminal defence and international criminal law.
Nicola Bier is a graduate of the double degree integrated study program jointly organized by Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (Munich) and Université Paris II and holds the French degree of Maîtrise en droit (mention: droit international). She has further specialized in international criminal law and transnational aspects of criminal law by completing the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Transnational Crime and Justice at United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI). Accompanying her post graduate judicial training, she worked as a research assistant at the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of Prof. Dr. Ralf Kölbel (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich).
Since November 2020 she has been working as a lawyer at Knierim & Kollegen Rechtsanwälte. Her focus lies on international and cross-boarder cases as well as on human rights aspects of criminal defence.
Nicola Bier speaks German, English, French, Spanish and Italian. Since 2020 she has been a permanent author of C.H. Beck´s News Service in criminal law.
